Accepting Payments Online
« on: July 29, 2011, 04:35:38 PM »
Hey again,

this kind of relates to my previous post, but what methods of accepting payments online are there? I'm familiar with paypal through using ebay, but that's about it besides the obvious secure use of credit card payment on big websites. Is it hard to setup? Any help would be great.

Hi Bridget,

That's one complicated question. It depends on your setup.
Do you have a registered company, business bank account and merchant account? You could accept cards through any payment gateway like PayPoint.net or Realex payments. They will both give you the option to accept debit cards and Irish Laser card. Keep in mind that you can still accept credit cards through Paypal and there's Skrill (ex-Moneybookers)who allow you to accept most forms of payments including all cards and bank transfers but they do charge a lot.
It really depends on your business setup, your software and the proposed turnover.
