how to remove the "www" prefix from domain, server Not Apache
« on: January 14, 2016, 09:05:43 AM »
I was asked by an SEO specialist to redirect my www to the root of my domain so I did this .htaccess code

Code:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.mydomian.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://mydomain.com/$1 [L,R=301]
After a few days I was informed that it did not work. I was also informed that the server is not Apache and .htaccess do not work

Is there any other way I can redirect the www to the root domain?

Hi Albert,

Do you have any idea what web-server it is being run on?
